A Song A Week 10: The Nemesis (featuring Maps) – Issues and Subscriptions

I recorded this in February, but had to wait until the block of love songs was over to post it. This was recorded for a reverse remix contest on the The Painted Man blog. The idea was to take this instrumental track and write and record lyrics for it. I’m pretty happy with the lyrics, but the song was a bit out of my range so I think the vocals turned out pretty badly.

the vocals aren’t as bad as you lead me to believe! Do you ever double track your vox? I bet if you doubled that lead with a falsetto version and ran it pretty low underneath, it could be pretty sweet. Anyway, I dug the issues/subscription hook. Nice.

haha, thanks. it might just be that i’m harder on my own stuff (especially my signing), but it’s pretty hard for me to listen to. i have doubled vocals (or more) before, that’s an interesting idea. maybe i would have made top 5 if i’d done that? haha.
